The Chairman's Secretariat (CS) is headed by S. Gulrez Yazdani, Executive Director.

CS coordinates the overall functioning of the SECP and liaises with external entities, including government agencies and multilateral and international organizations. In addition, it supervises the internal monitoring function within the SECP and is responsible for the management of donor-funded projects.

Monitoring and Compliance

CS handles the references received from the ministries, follows up other correspondence received at the Chairman’s office and reviews the performance of other divisions of the Commission.

CS maintains continuous liaison with the Federal Board of Revenue and industry stakeholders so as to iron out income tax anomalies and encourage investment in capital market and special investment avenues.

CS also coordinates with counterpart regulatory and other multilateral and international organizations and initiates specific assignments in coordination with these organizations.

Project Management/Anti Money Laundering

CS executes donor-funded projects and assignments of the Commission. Moreover, it also coordinates and liaises with relevant agencies, both locally and internationally, to promote Anti Money Laundering activities in Pakistan.

In addition, CS works in collaboration with ICAP to oversee accountancy profession in relation to auditors and development of relevant financial reporting framework for companies for bringing about greater transparency and independence in the activities of auditors and accounting firms.

CS also coordinates with Pakistan Institute of Corporate Governance (PICG) to promote good governance practices in Pakistan.

Internal & External Communication

The Internal & External Communication Unit at CS ensures smooth flow of information between the Commission and its external stakeholders, particularly print and electronic media. It also handles the matters relating to various publications of the Commission.
